That is Slater Lake, a manmade reservoir that was originally built as a recreation site in the 1960s. It was surrounded by trees and stocked with fish.I'm not sure what it is used for now. Since the early 1970s, it has been surrounded by radar test sites so it might not have been accessible for recreation due to security reasons. In recent years the reservoir has undergone a number of changes.
