It's not clear that construction ever started on this airfield. There may have been some confusion regarding the presence of a "threat" station (SAM site) near the free territory by Cedar Pass being a staging area for the airfield. You can see this site by driving down Cedar Pass road, then turning left by the fence (staying on free territory). Once you get a little elevation, you will see the site pop-up in your rear view mirror. The DLR website has some good close-up photos of this site, using a nearby road and some hiking.
