I ran the pics past some folks who know more about this than I and one strong suggestiong they came up with is that it might a hydro turbine.

This could explain its size, the attempt to cover it up so well, and the way it's being carried on the trailer. Could this be a transfer of turbines between Hoover to one of the Columbia River dams in the Northwest? U.S. 95 out of L.V. would seem the more logical route for such a load, but.

Also, if you look at the middle pic of the three from the Coast to Coast website there appears to be a rip in the tarp covering the object. The color underneath is white/silver/gray.....not the black color you would expect from a tire.
