i saw a lincoln county sheriff driving up groom lake road a few mornings ago at about 8am. he seemed to be doing near the speed limit. in the next few minutes, while driving over the mountains on the way back to ash springs, several cars and the white bus passed me in the opposite direction at relatively high speed.

it occurred to me that they actually might catch up with the sheriff if they continued at high speed and i turned around, headed back towards groom road and parked on the side of the mountain and watched the plumes of dust make their way to the base. they did eventually catch the sheriff but it wasnt until they all were entering the base.

my point? i dont really have one. maybe the sheriff escorting the workers inside? i doubt this as he should have turned around at the border and came back instide of proceeding inside.

anyway, i wouldnt have felt very safe riding in a bus going that fast on a dirt road. maybe that is why some workers drive themselves into the base.
