I generally have a problem with anyone resorting to YouTube.

Simply, if the ideas are so great and reasonably conceivable, why haven't/aren't they being pursued and developed? If it's so easy and simple why hasn't the DOD/Air Force/"Black World" glommed onto it with gusto and made something of it? They have all the money in the world to spend on such things, right?

No doubt this situation will advance and become regular and random at some point. But is the U.S. now shooting 20+ year old shuttles into orbit with inferior tech (and designing non-reuseable replacements for it) while such obvious and realistic designs are perfectly capable today?

The good Doctor may well have some ideas, but, they are either technically or financially unfeasible at this time to make them relavent. There is a reason that hypersonic and hyper/orbital craft are non-existent in the known world today.........the technology and physical restrictions upon them are large.

A YouTube series doesn't change all of that.....
