Groom Lake Rd. continues via Station 700 into the NTS. But anyone entering the ranges that way would have to have a clearance for the base. I am not aware of any traffic not going into Groom entering the GL Rd. gate. There could be a very simple explanation. I met European Red Flag pilots and ground crew on GL Rd on several occasions before. They were at Nellis for Red Flag, and used the opportunity to check out Area 51. They were just as curious as we are what was going on there. And, like most of us, they went to the signs, took some photos, then turned around and went back the way they came...
