regarding SAC security

I worked in a lab cell with a some former SAC B52 crew. They were retired early because of health reasons. They had developed symptoms from the incredible pressure. One former navigator told me that they were constantly scrambled and that when they got to the flight line they had to have the correct id badge of the day. This meant that their id badges had to have the correct smudges, markings, or pins prick patterns in order to board. These could change every day and sometimes more than once a day. If the badge wasn't accepted the unlucky fellow was put down on the ground and went to the brig. They also had some of the most ferocious guard dogs ever bred and trained.
