Sam - from what it sounds like to me..... you probably have never been to the area. You should really try to make it there sometime & experience for yourself. Once you see the terrain & how vast of an area we are talking about - you'll understand why it is not completely fenced or gated. A novice explorer would easily know they would not make it anywhere close to seeing anything - an expert in survival & penetration would not tempt their fortune. I saw on a documentary a guy sent to check it out call it an 11+ on a scale of 10 as far as being secure goes. It is naturally tucked away in a very rural sparsley populated area that is hardly hospitable. I, myself, found it awesome.
