Long Beach is not only Boeing (McDD), but also a very active civilian airport. It's pretty much impossible to hide anything there. JetBlue flies out of there, and there is a overlook on Signal Hill with those telescopes that give you a peek for a quarter.

Other than C-17s, you do see B-1's being upgraded there, and there are facilities for furnishing bizjets. The C-17 facilities though are very open and visible from the street - pretty much all of the airport is.
