The road leads about 6 miles to the base of Bald Mountain. It forks a couple of times near the border. Each fork eventually leads into the restricted area. There are four "gates", each marked only by orange posts and warning signs. The road also connects to two more "gates" a bit further north.

The closest gate is about 3.5 miles from the Bald Mountain facility. One of the gates, the closest to the highway, has a camera sitting just inside the border. That road is the only one that connects to the base inside the restricted area. All other roads entering the restricted area in that vicinity dead-end a mile or less inside the perimeter. In other words, that is the only road the cammos will be using to check on curious visitors in that area. However, it is a long drive from the guard shack, and therefore the chopper sometimes patrols that area.

Some of the photos of the Bald Mountain radio site in the attached link were taken from one of the roads, near the border.
