From my experience it would make sense that each building would have a secure entry point(s) with guards who process and document the workers as they go to and from their assigned work areas. They would also routinely patrol the halls and check that office safes, lab vaults, and work areas are secure. It makes sense to me that even within some if not most of the buildings there are several levels/layers of secure vaults. Some areas may have automated entries or cypher locks but they would be on camera (watched and recorded). The highest level of security would require log in and times to acces secure areas. As an example once I had to enter a secure data center. I passed initial security to get into the building. Again I had to pass a second security to get onto the correct elavator as the other elavators coundn't access that floor. To enter the data center I had to enter a glass booth which had 3 doors. The initial door to enter the booth which is one way (no backing out) and one to go forward into the datacenter. There was a third side door for security. All doors lockout when you enter. You present your key card and look into a camera. If you pass authentication the door to the data center opens and a escort is there to continue with you. If you fail authentication guards come in through the side door to escort you away. Once inside the data center you are escorted to the room where you need to go and the escort opens the cyberlock and escorts you while you work. At some point you have to surrender all your electronics. You even get escorted to the lavatory facilities or break rooms. Also you have to wear your identification badge in plain view or you will be challenged and/or reprimanded. You work in an assigned area so that you may never see any of the other areas or people working in them or have any idea what is done in them. As a note I worked for one defense think tank for 10 years and I saw engineers, scientists, and others everyday in the hallways but never in those 10 years ever exchange so much as a hello. Only talking to people you knew directly was protocal. Lastly I have been in highly classified areas where the whole area has a series of colored lights on the wall. If someone comes into the area who does not have the credentials to be in the area the lights light up just like the flashing red fire alarm lights. Different colors have different meanings. Sometimes there is an accompanying recorded message that repeats that there are visitors in the area and to lock down all sensitive materials. So anyways my point is that while Groom has external security it probably has mind blowing internal security that is whole different culture until itself.
