I thought it was a stupid article, reeking of shoddy journalism and it looked to me like that LtCol in the USAF was clueless too. Fossett was very wealthy, not in debt. So what if he had mistresses, that is not evidence of anything except cheating. That someone the plane he used was unusual? It sounded like a good plane for going out and touching down on lake bed surfaces like he planned to do. No chute? That just means he did not plan aerobatics, certainly is not required to take it. I did not see anything in that article that was actually evidence of anything, just some write that just to throw up as many unrelated things and seeing if any of it stuck
