You sure? I don't have the most recent Las Vegas sectional, which is the enforceable map for VFR flight in that area. Nothing else is considered accurate according to the FAA (debatable). According to my older map, and my local FSDO, that peak is listed as 8117 feet elevation and clearly 2 nautical miles outside the restricted airspace. That puts you in the MOA, which is an area where they can request info and deny IFR flight approval, but they cannot technically prohibit VFR flight. In other words, according to the sectional, there would be no violation. Not unless they've moved the boundaries of R4808N on a newer sectional than I have, or instituted a TFR, which is temporary.
