Brainwash Butte is a good high-elevation view spot for TTR. It is about 14 miles from the air field. I would probably prefer Mt. Diablo, a small hill about 0.85 miles NE of the TTR main gate. It is less than 7 miles from the air field, and if they land from the north, the approach pattern will bring them to within 4 miles of you. The downside is that the view of the air field is not as good as from Brainwash Butte, because the field is about 100ft. higher elevation than the top of Mt. Diablo. It is very easy to get to. Just drive down the TTR "Rocket Road" and turn left when you get to the guard station. I would expect a small crowd up there for the event.
