The design on the hat was different than the one on the check list. It was more like Boeing promotional stickers with a smiling 737. The EG&G logo was in the background. It was a more recent design. The tired 737 on the checklist (circa 1983) featured the stripe on the tail that was eliminated from the paint scheme by the mid to late 1980s.

The artistic style of the check list 737 has been seen in recent years in cartoon illustrations of both the 737 and Beech 1900. These designs and logos could best be described as semi-official.
