Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm not surprised. Put in enough hours, and planes crash. I'm surprised that the B-2 fleet lasted this long without a significant incident, given the maintenance-heavy nature of the airframes. The fact that this one crashed without loss of life in an area where the military doesn't have to worry about people poking around at the wreckage to see whether there's anything recognizable to sell to "interested parties." The small fleet was going to be scrutinized, and it's a bit scary to think that $2 billion is strewn about, but, all things considered, this is a pretty decent-case scenario for what was going to happen sooner or later.
