Too bad the article had so many mistakes. The author obviously has never read any of the material on dreamlandresort.com.

The dry lakebed airstrips are not included in the database because it only documents the active paved runways.

Runway 14-32 is correctly described in the database as 12,000 feet by 200 feet. The old runway with the extension onto the lakebed is closed in its entirety, as it has been for years. It is not included in the database because it is not an active runway.

The runway extension had nothing to do with nuclear-powered bomber designs. It was built for the A-12 and saw a fair amount of use during the OXCART program.

Groom Lake was publicly acknowledged long before President Clinton signed the security documents in 1995. It was identified in government press release statements as ealy as 1955.

Perhaps Alton K. Marsh should have done a little basic research.
