Actually a good question, although the term "hill" is quite misleading. Tikaboo is a "hill" and it damned near killed me to get to the top. The annexed "hills" Freedom Ridge and White Sides would take you long enough to ascent, that a clean getaway would not be possible. They are steep, mostly barren (no cover), and easy to see movement on. A slow night ascent would be inertesting to contemplate, and digging in well camoflaged and watching the base from the top would be something to do if you didn't mind the downside of what would happen to you and your security clearance if you were discovered. Since the peremiter is 20+ miles away from the base control tower, even a quick look would not give you much satisfaction. Come on out to the Labor Day weekend Tikaboo Climb, we'll guide you to the top of Tikaboo, and hopefully see some of the newest mystery planes (Supersized F-117A, and the Flying Cassette box) reported to be flying around Groom. If you do happen to make the trip yourself, e-mail Gary to get the skinny on what kind of photo gear to take along.
