Since A51 is now run by the USAF, and they want all their money spent on shiney things that fly, I bet that the cameras will replace the constant presence of Cammos that have staked out that ridge for the last 20+ years. It is cheaper and will reduce the cost of the vehicles and contract security force. Next few trips out there will probably see less of a human presence at the border. This does not mean a less of a reaction if the line is crossed, but a reduction of the eyes-on surveillance. This is not surprising as DLR has pretty much defined the rules for watching and have self-enforced a non-encroachment policy that has given the security force little to do but watch us watch them! Look for more cameras and less camos over time.
