Long weekend, many AF personel have Columbus Day off so everyone takes the Friday before off so they can have a 4 day weekend. Not sure about the other services. Many contractors work five ten hour days one week and then 4 ten hour days the next week. This means they have every other Friday off. I love this because it means I don't have to deal with Lockheed every other Friday.
