Steve Hauser brings up an interesting question. I imagine a fair amount of espionage has occurred around the Groom area (and I guess sadly there possibly has been some espionage within the various "skunkworks" type operations that have been associated with A51 as well). What kind of usefull knowledge could be gained by a spy holed up under a Joshua Tree actually eeing the plane operate (as opposed to just having the plans). Tom alludes to the possibility of espionage in his trip report on the first climb of Tikaboo with him, his wife, and Glenn Campbell. I assume this was the first time any of the original Interceptors had been up there and yet there was already some sort of shelter. Someone had been up there.
