Hi guys, I am located near San Franciso,CA and we have been having small earthquakes today. No big deal, but I wanted to know where they were coming from. I went to the USGS earthquake website and noticed this:
http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/FaultMaps/115-37.htm and found these eathquakes West of Groom lake on July 17, 2007. NO BIG DEAL -- EXCEPT, the depth of them is ALL On the SURFACE. The greatest has a magnitude 3.1 and occurred at 06:54:43 AM PDT July 17. It is event ID# nn00213421. Here is a list all close to each other: 04:31:10 PDT M=2.2, 05:20:17 PDT M=1.2, 05:41:20 PDT M=1.0, 05:43:39 PDT M=1.0, 05:53:20 PDT M=1.1, 06:54:43 PDT M= 3.1, 07:20:41 PDT M=0.9, 08:37:43 PDT M= 1.1 Now it doesn't look unusual except the aftershocks occur BEFORE the M=3.1. An M=3.1 should be felt in the area. If there were any human reasons for the earthquakes someone could have seen a flash or light between 04:30 PDT and 05:53 PDT just South West of ALAMO and approx 10 miles west of highway 93. The only local faults are East of highway 93. Also it is about 11 airline miles Southwest of Alamo at +37.117N and near a rock formation near the top of a mountain -115.280 W. All with HYPOCENTER at ZERO depth.
