Blackbird take-off speed is about 200 knots and TO distance is about 5,500 feet; normal landing speed is about 150 knots and 4,000 feet. So for at a minimum an abort at Vr will have already used up 10,000 feet (probably more given the extra 50 knots speed) of runway if the chute deploys. Imagine if the chute doesn't deploy. A YF was written-off at Edwards testing this very scenario. NO
