It could be something as mundane as clearing out all the staff at the end of the week, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. Assuming a 4 day shutdown, perhaps they needed two aircraft to carry the load at the end of the shift. OTOH, now that everyone's gone, they can bring the saucers out to play.
