The Project Faultless area is not radioactive at the surface. I've checked it out with a geiger counter. Further, it would be a poor radio location for Red Flag, though you would hear the AWACS and perhaps one of the tankers.

Given the terrain, you should be located between Hancock Summit and Queen City Summit if you expect to hear all the radio action. Don't forget that much of the traffic is from ground units that you only hear in the general region I specified.
