The MVT7100 is difficult to use, but the perfornance is hard to beat.

Of the old school Radio Shack scanners, the 2035, 2042, 43, and 60 all have their first IF around 600Mhz. These designs tend to work better in mil air (less birdies, the high side local is way out of band, etc.). The only drawback to the old handhelds is they are only two hundred channels. The mobiles are 1000.
