The IC-R20 is a good wideband scanner, but it is a little weak in the mil. air band, particularly around 300 MHz. I own one because it has some features that I need for certain purposes, but it would probably not be my first choice to go out there and listen th Red Flag. Plus it does not do trunking.

The Uniden BCD396T, which is available in our online store (see attached link) supports trunking. It is MUCH more sensitive in the mil. air band, and it allows monitoring the Nellis/NTS trunking system (not Groom, though). This is an excellent, very compact scanner that is my regular companion for trips up there.

I believe there is also a Radio Shack model that supports trunking, but I was not too impressed with its sensitivity.
