The first time I heard of being able to see a satellite was back in the 80's when I was in high school. I was always an aviation buff but I didn't believe you could see something as big as a car in space from Earth. Well, physics proved me wrong! They look pretty much like stars accept they move across they sky in a straight line and then fade out as they move out of the sun's light.

I went camping with my wife at Area 51 over the Memorial Day weekend. We saw a bunch of satellites pass overhead. She was really good at spotting them. Too bad there is no Wi-Fi at the hidden camp site. Below is a NASA link where you can track them. It would have been cool to know which one you where seeing as it traveled overhead!
