It depends what the original purchase airline ordered from Boeing. When I worked for Piedmont in the late 70s most if not all of their 737-200s had the internal stairs removed to save weight once all the stations installed loading bridges or had external stairs. If I remember some if not all the Janets had an airline background. Those carriers may have retained or removed the internal stairs. The plane # will have a sequence for each A/Cs installed equip so it can be routed. IE: send ship #123 to Burbank because it has internal stairs to drop off a single passenger, no external stairs required.
