Lazar is a complete fake. He did work for LANL and Navy Intelligence. His name appears in the LANL directory, and he has produced a W-2 from Navy Intelligence. However, the rest of the story (UFOs) is most likely a fraud. While you can't prove a negative, Lazar has done a poor job of proving his story. BTW, Lazar was not a pimp. Rather, he did some computer related work for a madam. Having had pimps knock on my car window while stuck in traffic in San Jose, Lazar doesn't fit the image.
