Are you thinking of the dirt road that leads from US 95 (near the Indian Reservation) past Desert Lake to US 93 south of Alamo? Its a beautiful drive, but you really don't have much of a view of the test site, let alone Groom. Perhaps if you would climb the hills east or west of the road, but I doubt it. Also, last time I drove it, the road was closed for a mile or so near the south end of Desert Lake due to a washed out section. Not sure if it has been re-opened. If not, you have to drive all the way back.
