Actually it goes back to an article in Popular Science from roughly 1994-1996(somewhere in that time period). Front page and long article exposing Area 51 (based on an old Russian spy photo released after the fall of the USSR). However, rumors of spy sites were not new..I heard one in the USAF at Nellis in the 1964-1965 period....We dismissed the story as just that, a wild story................wow! if we only knew.
