Yes, Lonnie Zamora was the cop in the desert. I'm sure we saw the same program, maybe re-packaged slightly for US television. Cook did spend a lot of time at White Sands. But as I recall, it looked like he was walking around White Sands National Monument with the blowing white sand dunes, not actually on the missle range which is mostly scrub desert. Anyone can go to the National Monument, but you don't see much of the Missle Range.
