It has been at Edwards for a couple of weeks for short field certification. I asked some of the engineers why they bought it to Edwards instead of doing the tests in Seattle or Moses Lake. They said the dry lakebed at Edwards provides a nice safety margin if anything goes wrong. I have seen quite a few Boeing airliners and the Wedgetail at Edwards for various test work.
