That is a very good point, but I wonder how such an aircraft's possibly massive exhaust would be explained away, or hidden? Personally, I think that it may have been gone through aerodynamic testing in a wind tunnel and some underground engine tests, but unlikely it was tested in actual flight. I could easily be wrong, though.
