Several years ago, when the TR-1 was still stationed at Alconbury (UK), I heard a TR-1 calling his CP. He had a close encounter of the third kind. Has anyone else heard an TR-1 use the term close encounter of the third kind ?

What is the meaning of the term close encounter of the third kind?
