Surprising. In one breath its said that the Stealth fighter is the frontline of the US arsenal, and now it seems as though its an old dog about to be put down.

Is it just that simple though? That the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 JSF will simply be successors to the F-117 in addition to all of the other planes (F-15,F-16, AV-8 Harriers, etc, etc)that they (F-35 & F-22) were originally designed to replace?
