About 5 months ago I ran the USUG seamless map website over Groom Lake. (see link) There was a map layer that showed light. That is, you could see cities versus open country based on the level of illumination. Area 51 was clearly shown on this light map, which I thought was pretty funny considering how the feds don't like to draw attention to the facility.

I can't find that map layer any more, but I provided the link in the event that somebody else can get it to work. You could also see light from the area of the TTR and one odd spot on the NTS towards the north.
