The 2 bright (hot) spots appear to be illumination or IR flares cascading downward behind the aircraft. Fired in self defense ? Ain't the "Whale" suposed to be stealthy? Maybe the insurgent guide with Al Jazeera had a shoulder fired missle with the group:) I'd like to see the video in full to get a better idea of the aircraft configuration.
I didn't see the entire video clip, but the night vision still to me looks like a very plain ole proportional C-130 variant. Theres some fuzz on the left wing where the outboard prop would be. Its apparent on the lower half and maybe a few pixels showing above the wing.
