The round robin looks like some instrument practice. Northtowne1 departure from VGT to the LAS VOR, then radar vectors to the VOR/DME 34 approach into St. George, UT. On the miss, right turn, climb and then back to MMM and Las Vegas. May have done a GPS 30 approach into VGT. The track on Flightaware sort of matches. The filed flight plan isn't always what you end up getting from ATC. The pilot(s) may have needed the approaches to stay instrument current. That's hard to do in the sunny weather of SOCAL and Nevada. :)
