One would think that some of these early missile defense units would have staged around this area. Any ideas as to why they chose not to? Obviously, NTS wouldn't need it, but you would think with hangars full of revolving arrays of black items, they would have wanted some inland ICBM protection. With Nellis and Las Vegas close by I can't figure out why they didn't? There are several low key AFB's in southern Georgia that had this protection. It looks like this area was just as important. Most all of the R&D could have been taken out with one shot from the reds. Any ideas? Steve
