The bright green color of the water suggests that
it may be something like the mineral ponds that
you find at badwater Death Valley and
similar desert spots.

Looking at it with the vertical exaggeration at 3x,
it appears to be shallow with perhaps the white
mineral deposits of the area as the bottom of the
pond. That would tend to support the mineral pool
guess.

It does seem to have active road access. And there's
some kind of fixture on the SW 'shore' of the thing.
Perhaps the fixture is some kind of fixed
siphon/fill plumbing.

What is the black object at the SE corner of the pond?
That almost looks like some additional kind of
standpipe or other plumbing fixture.

I measure the pond at about 204' x 80'. At 1' deep,
that would hold about 122,000 gallons. Firefighter
siphon would typically want a deeper sump.

So far, I think my guess is that it's simply the
surface cache for the area subterranean springs.
Perhaps they've built berms around the area to
contain it so that it doesn't wash out the
road just south and downhill, and flood the
dry lake emergency landing arc.
