Not sure if your coordinates copied correctly, but I assume you are referring to the lake NW of the base, surrounded by trees.

It is known as "Slater Lake" (after Col. Hugh "Slip" Slater, who was base commander of Area 51 in the 1960's). It was, and probably still is, used as a recreation area.

It has been there for many years. I hear that now, with many new classified radar sites in the vicinity, the area is a little sensitive.
