A few years ago I dug pretty deep into the Janets. My recollection is that some of the first 737's they used were ex-Western Airlines Aircraft. If you look up any of Western airplanes on airliners.net, you'll see that the old Western scheme was a big red stripe down the side and up the tail, on a white airplane. I don't know this for a fact, but I kinda assumed that they just simplified this scheme. At this point, all the Janet 737's should be ex-USAF T-43's, but they would have had to get rid of the White over Gray USAF scheme, so why not just paint them like they already were. Somewhere I've got a list of those ex-western airplanes, I'll dig it out and post it if anyone wants to see.........
