Trust me Wade, it is a HU-16B. I knew these planes by their old designations (SA-16). I have also worked on RB-57's and CU is right, that is NOT one of them. Since my last post I googled "Kirtland AFB display aircraft" and found the following link: http://aeroweb.brooklyn.cuny.edu/museums/nm/natomm.htm It seems they are a display of search & rescue aircraft of days gone bye........ an excerpt from the link - zipper
"The aircraft that you have listed are actually on display at Kirtland AFB. They were the external display part of a Search and Rescue Museum. The rest of that museum and the school were moved to Nellis AFB."
