Unless you believe in the theory that the tests are done on the weekend, you should do your Tikaboo hike during the week. A compromise is to hike up Sunday night so that at least you can watch the Janets fly.

Midsummer hikes up Tikaboo are kind of tricky as often there are lightning storms. This doesn't mean you can't do the hike in the summer, but you need to pick a day when all hell isn't breaking loose from the sky.

You also need to check your Tikaboo horoscope. That is, you make sure they is some period of darkness (no moon) on the night you campout. It doesn't have to be a night where there is no moon, but rather a night where there is a period of between say two hours after sunset (to allow for reasonable darkness) and the moon rise. You probably want at least one hour of darkness at a bare minimum. If you have a GPS (and you will need one for the hike), most have sun/moon charts built in.
