About 3 years ago a few farms cropped up around the TTR and basecamp. The farms near basecamp are interesting because their sprinklers have very bright strobe lights. I thought the lights had something to do with the base, but after tracking one down, you could hear the water sound as the light flashed. There appears to be some active mining near the TTR too.

I'm not sure if the basecamp land grab had something to do with more commercial activity in the area.
