Before you start reading, I apologize for the “conspiracy” tone e in the story. Once you read it all you will understand more why but for now… you will just have to know that I am not a “conspiracy theory” type of person. I tend to look for the easiest solution or cause… Okay, here we go…

Our first stop at Area 51 was the Little A’Le’Inn restaurant and bar in Rachel. This is a fun place to say the least. I think I met Chuck that day as the gentleman I was talking to said he did the web site fro the restaurant and the images. I wish I knew at the time more about this place I would have been totally impressed that I got to meet you Chuck... was that you..? The gentleman I talked to had a flight schedule for that week, that really had us going fro a while... how did you get that.?

We went to the back gate and the front gate. On the way to the front gate at approx 6:16 at night we saw a strange light in the sky. It hovered motionless for approx 10-20 seconds. I did not see it first and the person who first saw it did not see the light 'move' into that position nor did we see it leave or move away... it just was gone right in front of my eyes.

I jumped out of the car as fast as I could because the only thing I can think of that can look like that is a helicopter hovering, but we should have heard it. We were approximately 20 minutes from the front gate. This light was motionless and was approximately 200 yards from our car, and about 10 stories high in the air. I would say it was about at a 1 o’clock angel from our car going down mail box road. It was dark so this is all estimates. The light was white with smaller orange lights inside of it. I would estimate the size to be about that of a bus tire.

While I was out of the car, I did not hear anything, but did notice a very small red light on the crest of the mountain range. I thought from the looks of this light it could be several things… starting with a laser scope, some kind of visual tool to see us with, to basic aviation lighting from the base… but at the top of the range, from where we were we would not be able to see the base.

At 6:26 a flare went up from behind the mountain. Their was a lot of fog behind the mountain so the flare was glowing to us and had an obvious arch to it, up, over, then down flickering out of sight.

We reached the gate, saw a truck or jeep up on the right ridge, turned and started heading back. We got the same escort that Teresa did (other post on the board) and ours sounds almost identical to hers. Two sets of headlights coming at us from what looked like 375 and one behind us from the gate approx 1.5 miles behind us. Soon the front set turned to our left and must have gone off into the desert, while the one behind us turned around and went back.

We got to the main road (375) at approximately 8:10 and wanted to wait around till 8:30 for the flights… again according to the person I ‘think’ was Chuck they would be flying from 8:30 till 11:00 or 12. Our wives needed to use the restroom though. I need to say that we did not go back down mailbox road to get to 375… we took a turn to take a short cut. I would have to have my map (thanks LAI) to see where we came out… but. We were talking about sticking around for a while and going back to the black top area to watch the flights when I saw something else.

Again, were sitting at the edge of the dirt road, and 375, I look up and see something reflecting the moon light. Directly ahead of us was what I think is a camera inside a little bush on the ground. While I am telling the group this, my wife saw one on her side, driver side, in a bush as well… tiny cameras… watching us.

Well this was enough to freak us out so we left.

We reach the 93 T and notice a dark colored jeep sitting at the Jerky place across the HW with it’s lights on. As we turned I thought, that’s weird, that place was abandoned when we saw it in the light of day… why would someone be just sitting their and why would they be turned towards that building that way… oh well I thought.

We stopped to get gas at the Chevron we stopped at going out. First of all can I say that this place has more cameras than some banks I have seen in downtown LA… that’s weird. So we get gas, snacks and drinks and head on down 93 to Vegas.

Approximately 3 miles up the road, my wife and I are talking and looking for the bag with our snacks in them on the floor. As were looking down, my friend driving hits the breaks and yells holy $h*t. As I look up it looks like were about to get hit by an oncoming car at 70 mph. Just at the time of impact the lights go up over the car. I immediately look behind us to see what the heck just flew over us and there is nothing there. At this time, my friend driving has slowed down a little but not to a stop… Meanwhile my friends wife (passenger seat front) yells out “it’s on my side of the car”. Were all a LOT shook up at this point and I am looking at the passenger side of the car and start to hear some tapping sound… I will admit that I jumped a but as I saw some light reflection along with tapping and it was a bit scary after what we had just seen. My friend kept saying some one put a steel barricade in the road when I realized it was packing tape on the side of the car.

Someone has strung packing tape across the highway. While I was looking down, my friend (driving) said it looked like he was coming up on a steel wire barricade as if the road was closed. He said the only thought he had was maybe we took a wrong turn and were on a road that ended… then he thought, this steel wire is going to rip the car in half and kill us if it hold tightly as we go through it at 70 mph. This is the last thing he saw as he winced and apparently yelled. This is when I looked up and saw headlights (our lights reflecting off of the packing tape) coming at us. If we had not been in a Ford Explorer with a high radio antenna we would not have caught the tape on the car (I don’t think). In which case, I would have sworn something small flew over the car… that is after we did not die from a head on collision.

Well that’s my story… sorry it is so long.
