I see where the confusion arrived. The other poster asked if "this strip" has a name. I thought he meant the area 19 strip of Mahood fame, but he might have meant the strip surrounded by targets.

I wouldn't bet on any of those Nellis strips used as targets to be suitable for aircraft use. Nellis took down the photos of the range targets, but everything looked really cheesy. I found some USAF bid requests looking for containers (as used for shipping cargo) where holes in the side were fine. I'm sure they ended up in target construction. From Tikaboo, you can see such a target on range 61. You can't see it from the range 61 gate.

The target photos exist on the net in one of those archive or "way back" websites that log changes made to websites.
