I've done NV on a camera and video. NV, though it seems bright to your eye, is really pretty dim. At least the gen 2 Russian stuff I use. [I'm sure it you paid real money you could get a brighter image.] The video I've done with NV uses a B&W CCD camera set up to do macrophotography on the imaging tube. The video is sent to a camcorder. During night exercises, the planes fly blacked out, but use a solid light facing upwards that is only visible through NV. NV comes in handy at the Keno airstrip. I got two rather good C130 haircuts parked out there.
